Does anyone have any experience with sturmey-archer powered bikes? I have a 350cc single, side valve motor circa 1928? I would like to figure out what bike it came from.Any help is appreciated.

Yes they were used in Raleigh bikes and a few others, my motor has SA on the timing cover and all the other makes i can find like raleigh have their own names on them. I found on one site that says Sturmey-archer had a fellow working for them in the 1920's-1930 that developed a very successful 350cc race motor, could mine be one?

I am also looking for one of those gear boxes.

Thanks to Allan Johnson and his detective work it looks like i have a 1932 Coventry Eagle motor. Thanks Allan.

Now the search is on for parts!
