    I want to swap out our Sportster for more grunt. I'm not not concerned with speed just more torque. Im thinking of a Harley Cross bones. I.like the vintage look. Any comments on this choice? I am a bit concerned of the springer suspension as Harley once suggested not to do this on a springer.

    I used the old H-D springers on several outfits over the years and still do on one. Considering the possibility of internal rusting on old parts and the abuse I put to my rigs I would say the springers are strong enough. I can't imagine Harley making their newer parts less strong than the older stuff.

    One problem I'm having is finding a bike with enough frame locations to attach the struts. Does the VStrom have a full frame? Any problems finding mounts and locations?

    I had to have a sub frame built for the side car! But it works great handles great and the side car fits the style of the bike well.

    ever looked at a 1250kit for your sporty?? a lot cheaper than a new scoot and do a stage 2 light to the heads and some cams.

    What year and what CC's is your sporty?? you can easily get a 100hp out of a sporty and 90ft/lb of torque. I have a little more then that with mine.

    Thanks for the suggestion. My payload is more than the bike so im not totally convince my sportster should be updated. That said dont want a bigger rodeo!  i go solo sometimes.
