From Jim Briggs email December 24, 2019:
On Christmas Eve, at 2:55pm, CVMG member & friend to many, Russ Nighswander, succumbed to the injuries incurred from his collision with a deer last week & passed away. It is believed that he never regained consciousness.
No further details are known at this time.
Please include thoughts for Russ, his daughter Tammy & those close to him, as his passing adds a new dimension to what should be a joyous time of year.
I didn't know RUSS ...But being 70 > I've lost many family & friends over the years ...It is very painful & you can never get truly over it ...Luckily mother nature softens the blow by making memories fade or blurring them ...Even better I've been taking film over the years > so I can see most of my friends as they were ....I've posted some film on FACEBOOK & YouTube , so others can see them ....
Hope you have photos & film ....
My sincerest condolences .......
Just wanted to let everyone know Russ has 2 wonderful daughters. Tammy as Jim mentioned above as well as Cindy.
Russ was a friend or acquaintance to many people. Always there to give assistance or guidance when called upon.
He will be missed by so many.
