Nickel Belt Section

Welcome to Nickel Belt Section of the Canadian Vintage Motorcycle Group. Based in the Greater Sudbury area, our section numbers fifty plus with members hailing from as far west as Sault Ste. Marie and as far north as Timmins Ontario. In the east we border our Nipissing Section friends and to the south, the Grey-Bruce Section and the Muskoka Section. Our members’ motorcycling interests are equally wide spread. We enjoy riding the northern Ontario highways, back roads and trails upon everything from AJS Stormers to Yamaha FJR’s. We welcome anyone with a passion for vintage motorcycles regardless of what you may choose to ride.

Gatherings- Our meetings are held on the last Friday of most months with the locations varying. During riding season some meetings take place at our planned events. Sunday mornings throughout the year will find many members joining for breakfast at Gonga’s Grill on Paris St. in downtown Sudbury. Whatever the venue, visitors are always welcome at Nickel Belt functions. Please check our calendar for up to date information.

Events- Our riding season gets underway each year with our “Mugs Run” held at the end of May and finishes in the fall with our “Season Wrap Up/Dirt Bike Weekend”.  In between we enjoy many events and LOTS OF RIDING!

The highlight of our summer takes place on Manitoulin Island, (the largest freshwater island in the world) and is our very own "Isle of Man".

Always the second weekend in July, this “Road Tour” sees participants from many other CVMG Sections as well as a full contingent of Nickel Belters. From our weekend base at Providence Bay, riders set out to complete a “to do list” with the theme changing from year to year. Lightly travelled roads, amazing scenery and island hospitality make Nickel Belt’s Isle of Man(itoulin) a vintage rider’s delight. Please check our calendar for details on all our season’s events.

Join Us- If you would like to become a Nickel Belt Section member please follow the links on the CVMG home page, contact any of our executive or come out and see us at any of our scheduled gatherings or events.
