Motorcycles I'd love to own

Motos que j'aimerais posséder

Every motorcycle at the rally is in the running. We select 4 motorcycles that we consider to be special in some way. For example rare, beautifully restored, original, or modified to name a few examples. We hope this will be more inclusive. The selection committee will visit each campsite and view all the motorcycles. We request that owners label their bikes with toe-tags provided at registration. Plaques will be presented to the owners of  selected bikes after dinner Saturday.

  2025 Recipients & Information

1968 Honda CB350P - Police Bike

Owner: Jack Smith
Story: The first part of this machine purchased in 2018 by the owner was the gas tank which was missing one tank badge. It took six years of literally searching the globe to find that missing badge as well as all of the remaining parts required to assemble a complete bike. The hardest part to find was the siren. The bike is roadworthy, but cannot be ridden in Ontario in original condition as the front turn signals have a blue lens. To be legal they must be changed to an amber lens. Additionally, the large red flasher lights must be covered. The owner claims this is the only known version of this police bike in North America.

1949 Vincent HRD Series B Rapide

Owner: Phil Mahood (Entrant, 1st CVMG Annual Rally)
Story: This machine was purchased by the owner in 2003. While under restoration in 2022 it was destroyed in a house fire. Fortunately, 75% of the parts of the bike were salvaged as usable and a renewed restoration was started in 2023. It was put back on the road in spring 2025.

1960 BSA Gold Star 500

Owner: John Cooper (CVMG Founding Member)
Story: This machine was purchased buy the owner in 1985 as a collection of parts contained in two wooden sea chests for a princely sum of $1.00. The owner stated that he has spent considerably more than that on the restoration. On March 6, 2000 the owner rode the bike at the Daytona International Speedway and achieved a recorded maximum speed of 117 MPH.

1938 Rudge Ulster

Owner: Andrew Bosson (Great Pine Ridge Founding Member)
Story: The owner has collected four Rudge motorcycles. This particular machine was restored over a 25 year period with the required parts sourced from all corners of the British Commonwealth. The frame was hand made by the owner.
